Swedish investors to hold seminars on energy

THE Swedish investors will conduct a series of seminars in chambers of commerce and industries of Punjab to create awareness among their Pakistani counterparts on energy sector potential and Swedish corporation.This was disclosed by a five-member Swedish delegation, lead by Lars-Hjalmar Wide, Ambassador of Sweden in Pakistan, which visited the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) and held talks with the PBIT team, lead by Javed Akbar, the chief executive officer, regarding cooperation in various sectors, especially energy, agriculture and waste management. Jonas Rottorp, representing the Swedish Environmental Research Institute (IVL), offered to solicit interest of Swedish energy companies for investment in the renewable energy sector.Farrukh Ali Shah, Chief Executive Officer, PPDCL, shed light on the ongoing projects aimed at curbing the energy crisis. Present in the meeting were Saniya Awais, Project Manager, Punjab Power Development Board, Khalid Majeed, GM Operations, Lahore Waste Management Company, and Imran Amjad, CEO, Punjab Agriculture & Meat Company.Standby generators cost about $5,000 to buy and several thousand more to install.
