Council offers free installation of LED lights in back lanes

ABOUT 80 houseowners in Petaling Jaya have applied for Petaling Jaya City Council's (MBPJ) free installation of LED lights in their back lanes to enhance safety and prevent crime.Council public relations officer Zainun Zakaria said MBPJ had received the applications and that electrical contractors were fixing the lights."So far 20 houses have been fitted with the fluorescent LED lights. We could not do the required wiring at some houses as the occupants were not home. We will try to complete the work soon," she said, adding that some residents had even asked the contractor to conceal the wiring."This requires hacking and cementing and the council's budget is only for surface wiring," she said.Taman Mayang Jaya resident Goh Phaik Hong said the council had installed the light at her back door a month ago and it made her feel safer."With the automatic timer, the light comes on at 7pm and switches off at 7am,Though there are many China Solar Mp3 player and charger Suppliers which offer you wholesale solar panels, but it is hard to find the best.It is always beneficial if you are looking for solar lights in bulk.Buying bulk solar lights will not only save a lot of your money, but will also make you a reputed customer of the company and might get an opportunity of getting a special discount." she said.
Businessman Tong Nguen Thian said he opted for the LED light as it cost less due to its energy- saving component.All-Petaling Jaya Residents Association Coalition (Apac) adviser Mohd Umar Peer Mohd said the council must create more awareness on the free installation of the LED light as not many residents knew about the programme."It is a good initiative and all must be informed. There are electric hand dryers that work with the help of sensors. China Hand Sanitizer Wholesalers run automatically after detecting motion and based on this the device will be turned on and off. Some other hand dryers work on pushing the switch. These types of dryers' can certainly be set to particular time length based on your selection for it to remain on while operating the device. You can certainly save electric power by setting the time length over small value. One way is to work with the residents' associations," he said.Petaling Jaya mayor Datuk Mohamad Roslan Sakiman launched the programme on April 3 to light up back lanes to help make neighbourhoods safe.Roslan said the council would bear the cost of wiring and the LED lights, while the houseowner paid for electricity used as well as replacement costs for damaged LED lights.
Green City of Petaling Jaya Task Force chairman Khairul Anuar Zainudin said the wiring and LED lights cost about RM300 per house."With the allocation, we can do the wiring for 300 to 400 houses," he added.Khairul said the LED lighting was chosen as it was lower in cost and had longer lifespan compared to conventional lamps. The LED lights could last up to 50,000 hours."The lights will be fixed with a timer to work for 12 hours from 7pm to 7am. Based on a tariff of RM0.218 and an annual operation period of 4,380 hours, that will amount to RM17.19 for LED lighting, as opposed to RM41.06 for conventional lighting," he added.Khairul said the programme complemented MBPJ's crime-reduction activities under its Bandar Selamat programme.Use of solar energy is one of the best alternative and China Solar bag Exporters are looking for solar supplies at affordable prices. By looking out for the best solar panel suppliers, you will be able to provide your clients with quality products at very reasonable prices. The solar cells which are used to make the solar panels are of superior quality, and there would not be any chance of getting a complaint.
